Alcohol and Drug policy

Alcohol and Drug Policy

Alcohol

As an organization, we consider it important that our members and guests handle alcohol safely and responsibly. Therefore, we have established an alcohol policy to ensure that the use of alcohol remains within reasonable limits and that there is no excessive or irresponsible consumption.

Responsible alcohol use

We encourage our members and guests to use alcohol responsibly. This means discouraging excessive alcohol consumption and prohibiting the use of alcohol by individuals under the influence of drugs or (heavy) medications. During activities, there are ample alternative non-alcoholic beverages available to prevent people from consuming too much.

Activities

During activities, we adhere to the applicable regulations of our partners regarding entrance and alcohol policies. Adequate supervision and control are in place during activities at partner venues to ensure that alcohol use remains within reasonable limits and that there is no irresponsible or excessive consumption. Control may be carried out by both the board and partners (i.e., security). Members are obligated to follow the instructions of both aforementioned parties.

Drugs

The use, sale, or distribution of drugs at events, meetings, or other activities organized by our association is strictly prohibited. This also applies to (semi-)legal forms of drugs (i.e., cannabis and designer drugs). In the event of an emergency situation related to drug or alcohol use, the safety and health of our members take precedence. Members can always approach the board for assistance regardless of any violations of our rules.

Failure to comply with this drug and alcohol policy may result in disciplinary measures, including removal from the activity, suspension of membership, or other appropriate actions. In serious incidents, contact may be made with the university or a report may be filed with the police.
